An addendum to the previous post:

We are spoiled here in Bend if the best poets show up.
When they don't, we labor thru three rounds where the majority is mediocrity. And the crowd can leave--- lucky them. I have to sit thru it all for three hours.

spent the past couple days taking in poesy around the state---

---and i have to say: we are a bit spoiled here.
the amount of talent that comes out to our events to put themselves on display is entertaining but i don't think most people realize how much so until they go see other slams/poetry events.
not to put down other events, it's just that there is a lack of energy--- a lack of experience ---at so many other places.
tho, what astounds me most is how horrid every event in PDX has been. population density should breed more talent.

anyway---

all i'm saying is that the Bend slam is amazing by most measurements. thank you to the poets who make me look good because, somehow, the host always gets credit for the talent of others'... and, if you haven't been out to see us recently, there really is no excuse not to. even if you have to work wednesdays, there will always be links here to download the audio after each event.

...and, we have Round 1.

Here is Round 1 coming in at 37.4 MB.
I highly encourage all those who have not heard themselves perform before to download this and listen--- you will learn so much about your stage presence, writing and yourself.

March Slam

On our MySpace page, we have audio up from the following poets:

Special thanks to Door Bitch Susan for recording the slam and the good man Dave Goodman for the pics, all of which can be seen here.

If you would like to hear the slam in its entirety, good news--- we have the slam broken down by rounds for you to download if'n you'd like. These files will only be available for one week so please do not hesitate to download them.
First one is the shortest and best:

Round 3 - 7.69 MB
Expires April 2nd.

If you would like to hear rounds 1 and 2, leave a comment and I'll make them available soon if there is any demand.

Thank you,
-c.vance

Yet another something to keep up with---

I'm going to try to use this as a place to keep links to sound files of slams, update the winners and points a bit more expansively than on MySpace and maybe include the texts of some slam poems if people want to submit them...
